Our Weekend in McKinney...
Last weekend we made a trip to McKinney to see the Rodgers side of our family! The girls were real troopers in the car. They are really sweet for about 3 hours...after that they were still sweet (of course) they just didn't seem to understand why it took so long to get there! They watched several movies, read books, played babies together and of course got ice cream at DQ going there and coming back...there's not much more to choose from on the route we take but it's well worth the time we save getting there! We had a great time...full of fun and family. I took 140 pictures so it was really hard to choose only a few for the blog. I'll let the pictures help tell the story of our fun weekend...
We'll get right to the good stuff! First thing Friday morning we headed over to Leslie's to meet our new little nephew/cousin, Benjamin! Needless to say, the girls were crazy about him! ...always wanting to hold him, love on him & help tend to his little needs. :-)
Here's a closer look at his sweet face. He is such a good baby. He went along on all our little outings and hardly ever made a peep!
While we were at his house, Jackson showed us his fun swing and was sweet to share with Emme and Evynn.

Cowgirl Evynn
Cowgirl Emmerson
Next, we made our way to the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science. The kids had a great time playing and checking things out.
They even got to go on their own little archaeological dig!
We tried on hats!
Love this ant! ...sweetest ant I know! :-)
Alan and Sammie
And we're outta here!
That evening Grammie had a birthday party for all of the grand kids. Since she can't always make it to the girls' parties she thought it would be a good idea to have a little celebration while we were all together! The party was complete with friends, family, balloons, a cookie cake and presents. Evynn, Jackson and Emmerson each blew out their candle on the cake...a 2, 3 and 4!
Emmerson and Aunt Ashley playing with their blowouts!
Emmerson was so excited about her new puppy!
Evynn loves playing the instruments at Grammie's house!
On Saturday we traded off "free time" with the guys. They made a run for coffee and haircuts while we kept the kids and then they came home and watched the kids while we took a little trip to the mall. It was fun to get out together and we even hit my favorite store...Forever 21! (Here I am with my sweet sister-in-laws, Karla, Leslie and Ashley)
Emmerson fixed Aunt Ashleys hair with all the bows but then shied away when the camera came out. Little Sister finished the job but I just had to give the artist credit! :-)
Evynn loved holding Baby Benjamin. He got lots of kisses!
Emmerson loved playing with her uncles. Here she is with Uncle Ben...
And here she is gettin' some love from Uncle Rob
Emmerson was putting on a little concert singing
Ben, Alan and Evynn
Pop (or "Pot" as Evynn calls him) and Evynn blowing bubbles...
On Sunday afternoon we said our goodbyes. Karla headed back to Austin, Ben and Ashley headed back to New York and we headed back home. It was so good to all be together...felt like a holiday. I guess it could be considered a holiday...the family was together, we ate too much food and certainly celebrated... the arrival of Benjamin and the birthdays of our bigger babies Emmerson, Evynn and Jackson. Fun times!

Another view of the new posting and I loved all the pictures. I think I was too sleepy this morning and didn't get to look real close. Your "journal" of pictures and entries are all so great! You are such a good BLOGGER MOM! Your MIL(mother-in-law) loves you and your constant effort to keep up with all the little treasures in our life! Thank you! SR
PS. Loved Evynn's words...want more like that...
Sissy,
