Uncle Ben's Graduation Weekend

Last weekend we went to Austin to Ashley's parent's lakehouse.

We were there to celebrate Ben completing his MBA!

It was late when we got in but Emmerson was SO excited to see her cousin Jackson. She loved showing him her hermit crabs. We took them with us because we were afraid they would die if we left them at home without food or water. Unfortunately one of them died anyway. I think it could have been from the traumatic ride down. They were sitting on the floor board under Evynn's car seat. Evynn throws her toys down a lot. Poor hermit crab! For all of you parents out there...don't let anyone convince you that hermit crabs are low maintenance!

So we attempted graduation but my little wiggle worms were restless. We entertained ourselves on the UT campus. Here's Emmerson just dipping her feet in the water.Evynn wanted to do it too!

Here's the graduate!On Saturday we went swimming. Although it was probably 90 degrees out, it was overcast and the water was SO cold! The kids didn't seem to mind too much though. A few of us adults braved it...at least waist high but Uncle Ben went in...all the way! Here's Emmerson giving him a little shove. :-)
Evynn NEVER even flinched at the cold water. This was her first time in a pool and she LOVED it!
Karla, Alan, Evynn, Leslie and SammieSaturday evening we went out on the boat. Gary (Ashley's dad) cranked up the stereo and Emmerson and Jackson had a blast shakin' their booties! I wish I would have had my video camera for this one!
